さいたま国際芸術祭
10月に開催されるさいたま国際芸術祭に
市民プロジェクトで参加させて頂くことになりました。
市民の皆さんにご協力いただき制作をするという新しい試みの展示です。
作品は大宮駅からすぐのレイボックホールの5階にて展示させていただきます。
『わたしたちの種』
安産を祈る腹帯。 生まれてすぐにくるまれる布。
日常の服から晴れ着まで。
私たちは生まれる以前から布に守られ、 祈りを服に込め、
それらを纏い生きています。 性別、職業、身分やスタイル。
服は環境から身体を物理的に保護する役割だけでなく、
社会の中で自分自身を表現する役割も担っています。
そして、それは状況によって自由に変化する事ができるのです。
昆虫が擬態し生き抜くように、私たちも服を纏い社会で生きています。
その第二の皮膚のような服を解体し、作品にします。
今回は、シンプルに解体ができるニットを
さいたま市に暮らす人々からいただき、
それを糸の状態に戻し、レース編みを使って、
綿毛のオブジェを制作します。
綿毛のインスタレーションはまるで 植物のように静かに、
けれど確実に変化していきます。
一度だけでは分からないその静かな変化を何度も会場に来て
見ていただけると嬉しいです。

Clothing not only serves to physically protect the body from the environment, They also play a role in expressing themselves in society. And it can change freely depending on the situation. Just as insects mimic and survive, we wear clothes and live in society.
I dismantle the clothes like a second skin and turn them into works of art. This time, a knit that can be dismantled simply Received from people living in Saitama City, I return it to the state of thread and use lace knitting to create objects. Like a plant, the fluff installation quietly but surely changes.
